Ok we can't claim to know much about nutrition and there is plenty of information on this subject in print and on the Internet if you are interested in finding out about the best food to eat while cycling.
However, our resident chef has shared this recipe with us and it is fantastic and more importantly very easy to make.
2 tablespoons dark-chocolate chips
1 tablespoon peanut butter
2 slices country-style bread
1/2 banana, sliced
Microwave the chocolate chips in 15-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted. Spread the peanut butter on a slice of bread and top with the banana. Drizzle with melted chocolate, then sprinkle with coarse salt to taste, and top with remaining bread.
Satisfies a salty-sweet desire, plus dark chocolate is loaded with antioxidants that bolster muscle endurance. Just don't put it directly in your jersey pocket without something to wrap it in!
