Beaconsfield Cycling club welcomes members of all ages provided they have the minimum bike handling skills, a suitable bicycle and the level of fitness required to participate in our weekly rides. However we do require that parents or guardians of young people taking part in our club activities complete our parental consent form.
The consent form should be completed by the parent/guardian of anyone under the age of 18 years wishing to take part in Beaconsfield Cycling club activities or wishing to join the club. This is required for members and for non-members.
All members under the age of 16 years must also be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or a responsible person who is a current adult club member and is mutually acceptable to both the junior’s parent/legal guardian and the club committee. The parent/legal guardian needs to contact the agreed list of responsible persons at least 48 hours before each ride to express the intent of the junior to ride. The club will then confirm, if the parent is not accompanying the junior rider, whether an agreed responsible person is available. In all cases the junior rider must be a competent rider, with a suitable road worthy bike and able to ride in a group at the appropriate pace. The club runs 'Mellow' rides once per month and these are ideal for determing skills and capabilities. Safety is of paramount importance to the club, particualrly in the case of junior riders. The club is keen to develop riders of all ages and abilities so do please get in touch if you have any questions.
For joining members under the age of 18 years, the Parental Consent Form is to be printed, completed and signed in addition to completing our online Membership Application Form.
